The ninth week

During the ninth week, our lecturer MR. Azamuddin showed to us some videos about the ‘’Internet’’. Therefore, I learnt the history of the internet from 1957 when the first  message was sent between two computers until now.  Internet is a connection between one network to another network.  I also learnt how packets (data) reach their destination trough Transmission Control Protocol (TCP) or Internet Protocol (IP).  However, the most important is that internet has no center and it use to send email messages, upload and download files, communication, and surfing the web. Moreover, the internet has several applications which are Traditional core application such as Email, The killer application such as world-wide web (WWW), and new applications such as telephony.  Then, I learnt about Open System Interconnecting (OSI) and its layers. After that, I learnt about Hypertext and the early HTML only text, links, and images. Then, I learnt about the internet transmits data (called host or router) to another. After that, I learnt how the internet works by Transport Control Protocol (TCP), Backbone, and Uniform resource locator (URL).  I also learnt that a company that provide the internet to the users is called Internet Service Provider (ISP) such as Celcom company. Then, I learnt about the address of the (web page). I also learnt about the domain name or URL which means a unique name associated with a specific IP address by a program that runs on an Internet host computer. In conclusion, I learnt how to save the personal information in the internet by use virus protection software and Firewalls
